Sometimes this is the case when i am on mute and sometimes when I am off mute. I purchased this device to work with my magic jack phone service that I use for work purposes. My guess is that this is not an issue with the headset, but probably has more to do with the magic jack phone service, which for $20 for unlimited calls a year I will live with. It is not always the case. I am constantly having to participate in conference calls throughout the day and was looking for something which would allow me to keep my hands free and multi task. The sound quality I hear on this device is great, however I have had people tell me that they hear a lot of static and noise on the line sometimes when I am on the device.
I had expected better. I heard that this was a good and reliable product. The third time I used it my computer indicated it had malfunctioned and could not recognize the product.
The first one, the casing came apart on the USB exposing the small board. My second set I taped up in electrical tape but a few days ago it started acting up. This headset works very vell for online chatting (VENT, STEAM,etc)Pros: Very reasonable price, fairly sturdy overall, can adjust headset for listening to music, gaming, or voice. Later a fall from the desk broke a ear off and wasn't able to fix. won't become recognized unless I apply pressure near where the cable meets the USB casing.MY advice, is treat these well and you'll get alot of use out of them. I wear them when I watch my online netflix on my laptop.Cons: USB attachment is very very weak. I am on my second headset.
However, I will state that I bought at Jabra GN1900 headset for $89.99, and its noise-canceling microphone also picked up minute background sounds. I'm considering returning it mainly because of the microphone. Perhaps, this is a feature many headsets claim to have but don't. This headset advertises that it has a noise-canceling microphone, but it picks up even the faintest background noises, such as magazine page turning. It feels very sturdy, but I feel like it will get uncomfortable very fast.my ears are already starting to hurt a after 15 minutes of wear.
I love the digital sound qualitiy, and it is a very sturdy headset compared to the 250. Overall, a great headset for the price. This headset is very nice. I do find the headset a bit snug and I hope it loosens up a bit with wear. Serves me well as I use everyday for work online, Skype, and talk in Second Life. I had an earlier Logitech Stereo USB Headset (model 250) that lasted 4.5 yrs until some of the plastic broke and I had it held together with tape. The headset itself was still working very well when I bought this new one.
